Sunday sKool
Outing to the Wonder Caves
'The Cradle of Humankind'

Sunday, 17th December 2000

Off we went in the magic bus to the wonderful hills
where our ancestors used to hang out three million years ago.

Down in the 2.2 billion year old cave was Shinaz, Stacey
and the gang. It's a big chamber 40m high with amazing
formations, like this 'mushroom':

Before lunch we got talking evolution, Australopithecus africanus,
Homo habilis, Homo erectus and a whole lot of other
tongue-twisting names that just a few could remember.

That's Dakalo who worked at the MilkyWay during her
December school holidays, as well as the 'twins'
in the background who are Sunday sKool regulars.

As the debate raged, Bruce, David and Stacey were hard at work
preparing a lunch, with the traditional South Africa fare:

which didn't last long at all. Boerewors rolls Yum Yum.

Then it was back on the bus and here is the group at
Time Square at the end of the day.
This is where the MilkyWay Internet Cafe is.

Thanks to everyone who helped,
especially Emilia, Stacey, Shinaz, David and Paul for some of the pics.
